Sketch Book Diaries Entry 002 08/07/2006

This is a sketch I recently done of The Roots, who happen to be one of my favorite all time rap groups. although to me they are so much bigger than rap. they flow over into the halls of jazz and dabble in funk and world music and across so many other genres. They were on my mind so my first sketch of 2006 is here. GAWID I'm rusty! I had to draw black thought twice and still wasnt happy with the outcome! I have a long way to go, but "I WILL NOT LOSE". I can get back to the days of my former artistic glory. it's just going to take a lot of practice.

Her name is Audia. I created he back in the late 90's for a marketing campaign that was never used. She is the Goddess of melody. The muse of music and soul. When she screams you cant hear it, only feel a shudder down your spine.
